First Impressions of a Newbie

My excitement of a new career in the trade show industry couldn’t have been higher after accepting a role with Echelon Design.  The first mission was the WSA show in Vegas, my sights were high, the stage was set, I was off to meet Reid at the Vegas airport, then there was a little issue with a last-minute gate change.

You guessed it, I missed my flight!

Needless to say, I wont be living that down in the near future.

WSA 2009 was a great experience.  We had two clients at this show, Propet and Xsensible. You can click through to our portfolio if you’d like to see pictures of the custom exhibits we’ve produced at WSA.

I arrived on Thursday, which was the last day of setup and it was good to see what it takes to get the exhibit ready to do business, from the installation to the merchandising.  Friday morning the atmosphere had changed, the lights were on, the carpet aisles were in and the finger prints were gone from the exhibits, it was show time.  I had the opportunity to speak with contractors, exhibit companies and exhibitors at the show and it was nice to get their spin on things.  Propet and Xsensible both reported a successful show and I hope to catch up with them at the North American Shoe Expo next week.
