Retail Bounces Back at ICSC Recon 2010

This past Sunday I was on hand at the opening of the 2010 ICSC RECon Trade Expo, where both exhibitors and attendees were encouragingly optimistic about a return to business deals.  The past couple of years haven’t been easy on this show, which once was considered one of the top spending events per capita in North America.

According to a recent report published by CoStar Group, Inc. on behalf of ICSC, the shopping center industry grew to nearly 105,000 centers in 2009.  The increase represents modest growth over the past year but still economic signs point to steadied growth over the next 12 to 18 months.
