If you're not familiar with MarketingSherpa.com I suggest taking a few minutes to browse through the pages of what I consider to be great site for practical, how-to marketing information and resources. Tonight I read a great article titled, "Trade Show Strategy Overhaul: 6 Steps to 36% Larger Deal Size" which is essentially a case study outlining six steps that one company took to achieve maximum results for its one big annual event.

You all know that I get excited about new technologies so it should come as no surprise that I would tell you about Wave, Google's new mega-application for online communication and collaboration that it unveiled at its developer conference last week. It combines all of the great functions of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter into one slick application that also huge potential beyond social networking.

Trade Show Week reported today that the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) is expanding the size of the iLounge, a pavilion dedicated to Mac-related products, from 4,000 net sq. feet to nearly 25,000 net sq. feet at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next year. Space has already sold out for the iLounge, which largely features products and services related to the iPod and iPhone.

Starting this month, I'd like to begin sharing the titles of books that I'm currently reading. These could be for business or personal, or sometimes both. It's suiting that the first book featured in my book share was suggested to me by Reid Harman, the president of Echelon Design. This month's title is "Do You Matter? How great design will make people love your company" by Robert Brunner and Stewart Emery.

I read this week that only 30 percent of people actually use iPhone applications after purchasing them, and that number fell off even more with regards to free ones. I have to admit the sheer number of apps available for download or purchase in the App store is a bit overwhelming, regardless of how relevant these fun little widgets actually are to us.

Green technologies were all the buzz at last week's AHR Expo held at McCormick Place in Chicago. An estimated 50,000 plumbers, HVAC technicians and business owners were in attendance to see the latest products available in the air conditioning, heating and refigeration industry, which has seen a continued trend towards more environmentally friendly solutions.
